LIVE FROM SANTA’S WORKSHOP, BABY!

December 9, 2019

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! AND it’s also the messiest time of the year here are the Beck Street House. On any given day, we’re stringing popcorn or cranberries, making cinnamon salt dough ornaments, or breaking our oven by dehydrating fruit for dried fruit ornaments. Just kidding, our summer was a bit messy, too. Hell, every day looks like Santa’s workshop around here.

We’re planning to write a post here in the next week or so to show all of our holiday decorations. We are super excited (the crowd’s gonna go WILD!) but we can’t share quite yet, mostly because we’re still not done decorating yet.

But in the mean time, Laryssa and I have been combining our passion for graphic design, woodworking, and our love for our Cricut to make wooden signs for around the house. In fact, we were so excited for the signs we made a few extra to sell.

Without further ado, our 2019 Beck Street Creative Holiday Sign Collection.

All of our signs are designed by us two master crafters (okay maybe a bit of a stretch, but we’ve been watching lots of NBC’s Making It lately) – from the wooden frame to the designs that Laryssa made in Adobe Illustrator. They’re priced at $25 each, and measure 14.5″x14.5″. If you’re interested in one of our signs, feel free to reach out we’ll figure out a plan to get it to you!

We’ll be back soon with an entire post highlighting all our Christmas decorations!

Happy Holidays!

Having an [almost] finished dining room is seriously the greatest thing. We’ve been working on this room in some way or another for the past two years we’ve lived here, including some window trim we put up, decided a few minutes later that we hated it, and it sat for almost a year 🥴. We splurged and bought our first real dining room set - a beautiful cherry set from a local furniture company [@gaschofurniture] and it definitely completes the space. We’re so darn excited that it has a leaf too. Still on the to do list is figure out some window treatments and switch out the light for something more our style. Oh, and new flooring someday. And house plants. Definitely more house plants.
Here we go again! We want to blog more this year, and we're kicking off 2021 with a post recapping our 2020 (in a really, really long run-on sentence), sharing our goals for The Beck Street House, along with a list of projects (with sarcastic commentary) we're hoping to cross off the list between now and December 31.
Merry Christmas from the Beck Street House! We are obsessed with this original water color painting of our favorite place on Earth from Laryssa’s sister. It’s perfect; right down to Barkley’s one floppy ear and one stiff ear. Merry Christmas!
Our downstairs bathroom..needs some work. We’re really good at half-assing things when it comes to house projects, and we’re planning to half-ass this project too, but on purpose. New blog post is up talking all about the vibe we’re going for, and what we’re planning to do in the space! Link in the bio! #TheBeckStreetHouse
This is by far the best COVID purchase we’ve made so far! Check out our new blog post about our new back yard patio, including a ton of before and after pictures of our new backyard haven! Link in the bio! #TheBeckStreetHouse
We gotta hot date with this color this weekend.

[PS: @joannagaines, we think you got the name wrong; we think Kraft Macaroni and Cheese is more fitting. Which, as a result, inspired us to make mac and cheese for dinner.]
